In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth to be in intimacy with Himself. The Elohim Team made man in the image and likeness to have dominion. That’s intimacy! He formed man and fashioned man and breathed into the nostrils of man, intimacy. His presence makes us whole. Genesis 1:1, Genesis 1:26-28, Genesis 2:7, Psalm 16:11
How do I come into intimacy with the King of Glory? I must enter His gates with thanksgiving and come into His courts, His presence, with praise. Psalm 100:4
Intimacy invites me in. When I cry out that I want to know You, Lord. I am saying I want to be intimate with my Maker. I want the power of His resurrection in me. I must be willing to die to self in order to live in Him. Power of His resurrection. Nothing else will do. He calls me to know this because now, we are friends. That’s what He calls me, friend. John 15:15, Philippians 3:7-16
Jesus promised His friends that they would receive power of intimacy when the Holy Spirit came to live on the inside of them. They would not only be a witness of, but witness to, the power, wherever they go. Now, in order to stay powerful in intimacy, there must be a sustained prayer life. Intimacy keep us in prayer and prayer keeps us in intimacy. Intimacy keeps us in love with The Lord. Amazing!! Acts 1:8, Jude 1:20-21
Lord, I come today to bring all of me to Your feet. I bow down, Lord. I know that the only way I will be able to stand in the days ahead is to bow at Your feet now. I yield to Your strength. I yield to Your power. I yield to Your correction. I humble myself under Your mighty hand. I trust You, My King. Use me to Your glory. I present my body as a living sacrifice, Holy and acceptable to You. I believe that as I come into Your Presence and abide there, You will embrace me and lead me in the ways that I am to go. I long for Your Presence and I am willing to wait in Your Presence. I know that in Your Presence is fullness of joy and that at Your right hand, there are pleasures forever. Thank You for inviting me to Your banquet table. You feed me well by Your own hands. Your hands have prepared the table in which I sit. You bring me in to hide me from the enemy. I humbly say Thank You today. Use me as a vessel of honor as I pray on behalf of others. I bring before Your mercy seat the nations of the earth. I bring before Your mercy seat the kings of the earth. I bow and I say, Your Kingdom come to where I am. Your will be done in my life on earth as it is in heaven. Use me to display the beauty of holiness and the intimacy of serving You, My King. May all who come behind me, find me faithful to You. May I today and for the rest of my life, bring others into Your Presence. My life Lord, I yield. My relationships Lord, I yield. All that I am or every hope to ever be, I yield. Now Lord, may I follow hard after You in all that I do. I want intimacy in my prayer life and in my public life as well. I come into Your Presence and I bring all that You send me to get. In Jesus Name. Amen
Intimacy- into me see; closeness
Know- to be intimate with; as the Bridegroom knows His Bride; inseparable.
Presence- a person or thing that exist or is present in a place but is not seen
Friend- a person whom one knows and with whom one has a bond of natural or supernatural affection
What does it mean to be intimate with the Lord? It means to be naked before Him. It means to invite Him into me to see. I want to know Jesus but do I want Jesus to really know me? The truth is He knows all about you and me. As a matter of fact, He knew about us before He made the decision to die on our behalf. Wow, He saw me and still He loved me. He prayed for me before I knew that I needed praying for. He looked for me before I knew that I was lost. That’s love. What if all God wanted from you and me was for us to hang out with Him all the time and just to stay in His presence? What would that be like? Maybe, that would be the perfect picture of the Kingdom of God. You know, righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Isn’t that The Kingdom? Yes, I want to be a part of the kingdom. That means that I must be willing to do my part in the Kingdom. I want His Kingdom to come. I want His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. I want His way of doing things. Well, if that is to be, it must be up to you and me. What can we do? Where do we start? We can come into His presence and stay right there. Today, lets practice coming into His Presence, and let’s just stay there. After all, I was created by The King, for the King and filled with the Spirit of The King. What better place of maintenance than in Intimacy in Prayer? Pray! Obey! Stay! Have a Jesus Filled Day!!
